The hull and deck of sailboats, motorboats, rescue boats, and rowing boats, due to constant contact with seawater, require exceptional resistance to salt corrosion, moisture absorption, and impact. The manufacturing process is done by hand lay-up for large molds, or vacuum infusion for higher quality and lower weight.

The key advantage of using vinyl ester resins in rescue and military boats is high hydrolysis resistance (preventing water ingress into layers and subsequent blistering) and excellent impact strength.
