Traditional metal gutters are prone to corrosion, rust, and noise during rainfall. Gutters made of FRP (fiberglass-reinforced plastic) using polyester or vinyl ester resin and layers of fiberglass offer a modern and durable solution for draining rainwater from the roofs of residential buildings. The production process using pultrusion or hand lay-up methods allows for the manufacturing of various profiles with uniform thickness.
The most important features of these gutters are their very low weight (about one-quarter of steel equivalents), easy installation without the need for welding or painting, and complete resistance to moisture and ultraviolet radiation. Additionally, fittings and elbows are easily sealed using two-part epoxy adhesive. Alborz Organic Materials Company provides not only the base resin but also specialty adhesives for connecting FRP gutters.
